Welcome to The Wakanda $1 Billion Club

That’s the bold prediction I made two and half weeks ago in my article titled, 10 Unorthodox Black Panther Marketing Secrets Exposed. A forecast that has now become reality in just 26 days! Marvel Universe and fans can now welcome Black Panther to the Wakanda $1 Billion Club.

That’s right! The Marvel Studios’ film was slightly more than $700 Million when I last wrote about it’s marketing secrets but has since joined the Wakanda Forever $1 Billion Club. Who would have thought that the “Black Panther,” which first appeared on the screen of Marvel Universe more than 50 years ago, may soon be welcoming the “The Avengers: Infinity War,” to this exclusive Wakanda Club!

The blockbuster hit was released on February 16, 2018 and featured a stunning linup of stars, including: Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Michael B. Jordan (Kilmonger), Angela Bassett (Queen Ramonda), Daniel Kaluuya (W’Kabi), Winston Duke (M’Baku), and Forest Whitaker (Zuri). All the action surrounded the (fictional) secret high-tech African nation of Wakanda and it’s main power source — vibranium.

#Wakanda Forever! This catch phrase characterizes sophistication, excellence, power, potential, fulfillment, diversity, class, style, taste, and strength. So much so now that if you search YouTube for the slogan, you’ll see stars and athletes from around the world saluting with the arms ‘Xed across their chest. Everyone seems to be catching Wakanda fever and the movie’s depiction and symbologies make this understandable.

But before you pack your bags for an extended stay or set your sights on joining the elite club, make sure you raise the bar in your life. Set your goals higher. Become more focused and disciplined. Be bold and brave enough to step out and live out your true purpose and calling. Excellence is not an overnight prize but a principle to exemplify in your daily life. Do this, and who knows, maybe, just maybe, you (or your creative project) may one day be forever welcome into the Wakanda $1 Billion Club.
